Hannah McGuinness, a jewellery designer from Glenties, Donegal, is lending her support to the Design and Crafts Council Ireland’s (DCCI) Made Local campaign.

This initiative aims to boost Ireland’s sustainable design and craft industry by promoting locally crafted products.

    Promoting Sustainable Craft

The DCCI’s Made Local campaign aims to promote the quality and value of Irish-designed and craft-made goods. It encourages consumers to make more conscious and sustainable purchasing choices.

    The Work of Hannah McGuinness

McGuinness, known for her contemporary and limited-edition jewellery pieces, focuses on the interplay of form, texture, and colour in her creations. Her work features a sculptural and individualistic style.

    The Impact of Made Local

The Made Local initiative encourages support for local artisans. Purchasing locally produced items contributes to the sustainability of the Irish craft industry and supports local economies.

    Consumer Resources

To find Irish craft and design makers participating in Made Local 2024, consumers can visit DCCI’s online directory at www.madelocal.ie. This resource allows users to search for makers and their products by location, facilitating easier access to locally made goods.

For more information on Irish craft and design, visit www.dcci.ie or follow @dccireland and #MadeLocal on social media.
