The 50th edition of Showcase – Ireland’s Creative Expo will take place at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) from 19–21 January 2025.
Organised by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI), the event provides a platform for nearly 400 exhibitors to present their creations to an audience of international buyers. With support from Enterprise Ireland, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, and Local Enterprise Offices, Showcase continues to be a significant event for the Irish craft and design industry.
A Platform for Irish Craft and Design
Showcase 2025 will feature exhibitors from various sectors, including fashion, health and beauty, homeware, and jewellery. The event allows retailers to view products in person, meet the designers behind them, and explore business opportunities.
This year’s event includes nearly 90 new brands among its 400 exhibitors, reflecting the ongoing evolution of Ireland’s craft and design sector. Companies such as Shanore Jewellery, Magees, Aran Woollen Mills, and Nicholas Mosse will be among those presenting their work, offering buyers a diverse selection of Irish-made goods.
Enterprise Ireland’s Role in Supporting Irish Businesses
Enterprise Ireland will again host the International Buyers’ Hub, an initiative designed to connect overseas buyers with Irish companies. In 2024, the hub welcomed 90 buyers representing retail chains, department stores, and online marketplaces. The initiative is an important aspect of Enterprise Ireland’s broader efforts to help Irish-owned companies expand their presence in international markets.
At this year’s event, more than 30 Enterprise Ireland-supported firms will participate, spanning multiple sectors. Events like Showcase are key opportunities for these companies to engage with new customers and strengthen relationships with existing partners.
Economic Significance
Research conducted by DCCI highlights the economic value of Showcase. Since 2015, orders generated at the event have grown by an average of 18% annually. In 2024, visitor purchasing plans exceeded €20.5 million, underscoring the event’s role in driving sales for Irish businesses.
Mary Blanchfield, interim CEO of DCCI, commented on the importance of the event: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for businesses to bring their products to domestic and international markets, to demonstrate the unique offering that has gained the Irish craft and design sector such an enviable global reputation.”
Opportunities for Jewellers
For jewellers, Showcase provides a chance to connect with influential buyers and showcase their work to a global audience. By engaging with decision-makers at the event, jewellery brands can foster relationships that support long-term market expansion.
As consumer interest grows in sustainability and heritage, Showcase offers jewellers a stage to highlight the authenticity and craftsmanship of their designs. These qualities are increasingly valued by buyers seeking products that align with emerging trends.
